Indalo began with a simple, very personal frustration.

In our own homes—and on the factory floor—we noticed the same pattern again and again: the moment a pet entered the family, good furniture was pushed aside. Stylish interiors slowly filled with plastic beds, fabric crates, and objects that solved a pet’s needs but disrupted the home.

As furniture makers, that never sat right with us.

We come from a background of building export-grade furniture for international brands—pieces designed to last, to be lived with, and to age beautifully over time. Watching that standard disappear when it came to pets raised a question we couldn’t ignore:

Why should living with pets mean lowering the quality of the objects around us?

Indalo was created to answer that question.

What We Do

Indalo designs and produces furniture that serves both pets and their people—without compromise.

Each piece is conceived as real furniture first: something you would be proud to place in your living room, bedroom, or entryway. The difference is that every design is carefully adapted to support the natural behaviors of pets—resting, hiding, observing, climbing, or playing—within the same object.

The result is shared living:

• Fewer standalone pet items

• Calmer, more intentional spaces

• Furniture that pets instinctively gravitate toward, instead of being trained to use

Where We Come From

Indalo is an independent brand unit of a long-established furniture workshop based in Cirebon, Indonesia—one of the country’s most respected centers for woodcraft.

Our workshop operates at factory scale, but much of the work remains hands-on. Veteran craftsmen shape, assemble, and finish each piece using the same standards applied to export furniture:

• Solid wood from SVLK-certified sources

• Thoughtful material selection for safety and longevity

• Joinery and finishes designed to be repaired, not replaced

This foundation allows us to focus on design, not shortcuts.

How We Design

Our design process starts with real life, not trends.

Ideas move through a cycle of observation, discussion, and refinement—often challenged internally before they ever reach prototyping. We look closely at how pets move through a home, where mess accumulates, and how furniture can quietly manage daily realities like shedding, scratching, and cleaning.

Before release, prototypes are tested in real homes—including our own. Our dog, Rumi, along with cats and other small animals, lives with early versions of each design. If a piece can’t survive daily use while still feeling at home in an adult living space, it doesn’t move forward.

We believe pets are not accessories, and pet furniture should not feel disposable.

Our commitment is to create objects that:

We don’t believe good design needs to shout. It should quietly earn its place in your home.
